Position Summary:

This position is responsible for the financial and general administration of the Dematic Mexico operation, taking on multiple roles including management of the areas of financial reporting, credit and collections, treasury and cash management, human resources, payroll, contract administration, and taxation issues, pertaining to the organization.

Key Responsibilities (Problem Solving, Critical Thinking):

  • Manage the effective functioning of the Accounting department, ensuring the proper administration of the General Accounting, Payroll, Accounts Receivable, Collections, and Accounts Payable systems as well as personnel administration and IT.
  • Produce timely and accurate financial reporting, adhering to generally accepted accounting principles.
  • Management of the accounting function, including the supervision, training and development of accounting personnel.
  • Act in the capacity of Credit Manager, and co-ordinate the credit and collection function.
  • Act in the capacity of Human Resources Manager, establishing policies and procedures for the operation and administering employee benefit programs.
  • Preparation of extensive financial reports on a monthly basis for internal management, the NA Hub, as well as the international parent, based in Germany.
  • Prepare other financial reports and analyses, as required by the NA Hub and the German parent company.
  • Provision of financial and operational analysis including interpretation of data, as well as providing decisions and recommendations to senior management on a variety of business issues.
  • Strive to continuously improve the quality and effectiveness of accounting and financial systems and reporting.
  • Maintain proper internal controls to ensure the safeguarding of company assets and adherence to company policies and procedures.
  • Provide for the information requirements of all departments within the organization.
  • Act in an advisory capacity to sales, service and engineering departments on financial, accounting and contractual issues.
  • Preparation of annual budget and monthly forecasts.
  • Develop interdepartmental systems and procedures which ensure the effective function of accounting related activities
  • Establish and maintain Transfer pricing policy for sale to affiliate companies.
  • Monitor and manage corporate cash position and purchase or sell foreign currency as needed.
  • Represent the organization in any banking issues.
  • Insurance policy administration.
  • Bonus Plan administration.
  • Intra-company administration and transaction processing.
  • Co-ordinate government reporting and correspondence with regard to statistical information and tax payment filing.
  • Work closely with the external auditors to ensure a timely completion of the annual audit.

Education:

Typically Bachelor's Degree or advanced degree.

Knowledge / Qualifications:

  • Demonstrates and applies broad knowledge of concepts, practices, and procedures for the areas as outlined above.
  • Demonstrates understanding and application of supervisory approaches for work direction, motivation, performance management, and disciplinary action.
